Amy L. Marxkors is a marathoner and a brand spanking new author of a book titled “The Lola Papers.” We ran into each other at Kaldi’s Coffee one day this past summer and just started talking. She told me some fanciful tale of getting into the VIP area during the St. Louis Rams Spring Training Camp and of chillin’ with the players wives, girlfriends, team owners, etc. Eventually we started discussing her book, and I just naturally slipped a few web site and marketing ideas her direction; she brushed me off (like most cute girls). But then, a few months later she called me up to discuss the possibilities of getting a site up and running as a continuation of her The Lola Papers series (which happened to start in the Fleet Feet St. Louis email newsletter).
In developing Amy’s site, our goals were really simple and straight forward – we wanted a site that was (1) unique in design when compared with other author’s sites, (2) portrayed the fun-loving personality of “Lola,” and (3) was easy to read and navigate. You can tell from the imagery that we had a lot of fun putting this thing together!
